Artist Statement
Dan Bright is an artist and printmaker who takes his inspiration from the wildlife found in the countryside around his home in the Wye Valley on the border of England and Wales.
His practice involves spending as much time as possible in the field, sketching, building understanding through close observation and capturing fleeting moments of interaction between creatures and their environment. In the studio he further explores these moments using mixed media and printmaking techniques, striving to find balance between a purely representational approach and a more abstract expression of how it feels.
His work is concerned with the beauty and fragility of our world and aims to show people how he sees it, to help them feel the beauty that is all around us, inspire them to look deeper and take better care of our shared world.
